About Us
The Second Chance Community Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2024 by two young, fresh-out-of-college graduates who were deeply concerned about the growing homeless crisis in the community. Witnessing the struggles of individuals facing homelessness, we were inspired to take action and create an organization that could make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. Our passion, empathy, and drive to create positive change led us to establish the foundation with a mission to provide support, resources, and opportunities for individuals seeking a second chance at life.
The homeless crisis in Houston is a pressing issue that continues to escalate, with thousands of individuals and families experiencing homelessness each night. Despite efforts to address the problem, affordable housing shortages, lack of access to health services, and economic challenges contribute to the ongoing crisis.
